Community Guidelines

Talk Now thrives because of our shared commitment to respectful, authentic interaction. These guidelines outline expected behavior and prohibited activities. Following them ensures a positive experience for everyone.

Our Core Principles

We strive to maintain a community where:

  • People feel safe expressing themselves
  • Conversations are respectful and inclusive
  • Authenticity replaces pretense
  • Diversity is welcomed and valued
  • Harassment and abuse have no place

Expected Behavior

Be Respectful: Treat others with kindness, even if you disagree. Avoid insults, demeaning remarks, or personal attacks. Disagreements can be handled civilly.

Be Authentic: Represent yourself honestly. Don't impersonate others or use deceptive profiles. Authenticity builds trust.

Be Considerate: Remember there's a real person behind the screen. Think about how your words and actions might affect others before speaking or acting.

Respect Boundaries: If someone indicates they're uncomfortable or asks you to stop something, respect that immediately. No means no.

Report Issues: If you witness policy violations, use the reporting tool. Helping maintain community standards benefits everyone.

Prohibited Behavior

The following activities are strictly forbidden and may result in immediate bans:

Harassment & Bullying: Targeted attacks, stalking, intimidation, threats, or any behavior intended to distress, humiliate, or frighten others.

Hate Speech: Content that attacks, degrades, or incites violence against people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality.

Sexually Explicit Content: Nudity, sexual acts, sexually suggestive poses, or explicit conversations. This includes requesting or sending nude images.

Illegal Activities: Promoting, facilitating, or engaging in illegal acts including drug distribution, exploitation, fraud, or theft.

Violence & Harm: Depictions or promotion of violence, self-harm, or harm to others. Content that glorifies or encourages dangerous behavior.

Underage Users: Anyone under 18 is prohibited from using Talk Now. If you suspect someone is underage, report them immediately.

Spam & Advertising: Unsolicited promotion of products, services, websites, or social media accounts. This includes asking for likes, follows, or subscriptions.

Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else, including celebrities, public figures, or other users.

Recording & Screenshots: Capturing or distributing images, video, or text from private conversations without explicit consent from all parties. This includes screenshots, recordings, or sharing chat logs.

Personal Information Sharing: Posting or requesting others' private information (doxxing), including addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or workplace details without consent.

Scams & Fraud: Misrepresenting yourself for financial gain, phishing for account information, running advance-fee schemes, or any deceptive practices.

Enforcement

Violations of these guidelines result in enforcement actions at our discretion:

  • Warning: First-time or minor violations may receive a warning.
  • Temporary Ban: Repeated or moderate violations result in temporary suspension (24 hours to 30 days).
  • Permanent Ban: Severe violations or repeated offenses lead to permanent removal from the platform with no appeal.
  • Content Removal: Violating content is deleted immediately.

Our moderation team reviews reports and makes judgment calls based on context. Not every situation is black and white; we consider intent, history, and overall impact on the community.

Appeals

If you believe a ban or enforcement action was made in error, you may appeal via the contact form. Include your username, the action taken, and a clear explanation of why you believe it was mistaken. Appeals are reviewed by a separate moderator not involved in the original decision. We uphold the majority of enforcement actions but will reverse if clear error is demonstrated.

Content Moderation

Talk Now employs automated systems and human moderators to detect and address guideline violations. We may review chats for compliance, and we reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines without prior notice. Moderation decisions are final except through the appeals process.

Updates to Guidelines

These guidelines may be updated periodically to address emerging issues or clarify expectations. Continued use of Talk Now after updates constitutes acceptance. Significant changes will be communicated through platform notifications.

Your Role

You are responsible for your own conduct and for reporting violations you witness. By using Talk Now, you agree to adhere to these guidelines and help maintain a community where authentic connection can flourish. Together, we keep Talk Now welcoming for everyone seeking genuine human interaction.
